My DIY

This page is dedicated to old projects I have completed in the past. I may no longer live in these places or use these specific items but you may like to make them for your place!

..::Jewelry Frame::..

Required Items: Old frame(or two) small hooks (you can buy a small plastic box full of them at the dollar tree)

So, I went from one of the standing jewelry boxes with the pretty legs, doors that opened on the sides, top that lifted up, and eight drawers to this! I had a real problem with keeping my jewelry box clutter free, True Story, and came across a picture where this was done, but with a cork board behind the frame (that would be your best option if you like to rearrange your space or move alot, or are thinking about moving in the near future, on account of all the little holes you will create). All I needed was a little brainstorm about how to use what I had, and voila!

Note: this was my jewelry storage method in 2009 at the present time I use a decorated box, I will post a separate blog about my Jewelry box using discarded egg containers(pics coming soon!).

..::Recycled Headphone organizer::..
 Here all you need is some creativity, and misc. recycled tidbits...
This one uses only a plastic bread tie. Just wrap the cord around, and around, and throw it in your bag! Ready to use and reuse whenever you need it!
 This one is a preferred customer card (the key-chain version)
I'm not sure about you but I normally don't keep these on my key-chain, FYI too much weight on a key-chain will cause problems with your ignition switch! Just cut a slit in the bottom, and one in the top to open up the key hole, wrap your cord around and around and your ready to go!

..::Refrigerator Organizer::..
Some would call me magnet happy! =] I call it DIY fun! This is our refrigerator. Before it was a dull space (I know it seems cluttered, but I wanted a cork board in the kitchen and we just didn't have the space) now it is decorated! I am not done with my plans yet for the refrigerator design, but this is my first step.

Below you see how some scrapbook paper, a little tape, a discarded iron on jewel heart, and of course a couple pieces of magnet tape turned an old cigarette box into an organizer! I keep pens and a letter opener in it!

Next, I added a couple pictures of an old Barbie Tray that I stuck a piece of magnet tape to and it works out great as a magnet!

In the first picture you can see a black card sleeve that I intend to put to use as a picture frame, when I find a pic I like, and I have also printed out a calendar and one of my favorite sayings from Mary Englebert.

..::Bamboo Wreath::..
A little bamboo, some hemp, and some mix-match left over glass beads that I had, filled my hearts desire for a personalized wreath to hang on our door. (This was the best picture I had, where you could really read what it says) My husband helped me tie each half of the heart and I did the rest. The glare from the glass beads make it hard to read, but it has our last name on it and I think it really gives it that extra sparkle! I love being greeted by it when I come home! Was a relaxing and inspiring project... but it took me all night, and I am glad I only needed one!

..::Ceiling Tile Cork Board::..
My mom gave me the idea for this project when she took a piece of ceiling tile and some toil, and made a dancing balerina cork board for my little cousin one year. I don't have this any more but I did make it in 2008. All you do is take a discarded ceiling tile, some craft paint, some pins, and some of your favorite pictures and put them all together to make this awesome board. Plus it is so inexpensive to make, It would be great for a dorm room!
